Abstract:
Provided is a rotary connector device provided with a flat cable that, while maintaining high electrical conductivity, exhibits sufficient elastic properties, and is able to realize further improvement in bend characteristics. A rotary connector device (1) is provided with a flat cable (13) housed in an annular space (S1) between a stator (11) and a rotator (12). In the annular space (S1), the flat cable (13) is provided with a folded back part (13a) that is curved and folded back at the middle part in the longitudinal direction of the flat cable. In the flat cable (13), when the rotator (12) turns clockwise or counterclockwise, winding or unwinding is done with the bend maintained in the folded part (13a). The bend radius of the flat cable (13) is in the range of 4-8 mm. When the bend radius is X (mm) and 0.2% yield strength is Y (MPa), Y ≥ 14.175X2 – 249.35X + 1406.9 is satisfied, and the electrical conductivity is 50% IACS or greater.
