Abstract:
A rotary connector (1) is provided with: an electrically conductive shaft (2); a bearing (3) which rotatably supports the shaft (2); and a housing (4) in which the bearing (3) is disposed and which includes an electrode portion (11) at a location opposing at least an end face of the shaft (2). The shaft (2) and the housing (4) are insulated from each other. The end face of the shaft (2) and the electrode portion (11) of the housing (4) oppose each other via an insulating fluid having a dielectric constant higher than that of air, and are capacitively coupled so as to enable transmission of an AC current or an AC signal. The bearing (3) is a dynamic bearing, for example.
