Abstract:
Provided is a rotary damper of which the specifications can be modified easily without replacing the existing rotary damper, thus achieving good economics. The rotary damper 100 is provided with a main housing 101. The main housing 101 comprises a module attaching portion 108 for mounting function modules 200 to 500 in a detachable manner. The function modules 200 to 500 respectively have module housings 201, 301, 401, and 501 housing module rotors 206, 306, 406, and 506 which are rotationally driven in response to an external rotational driving force, and module output portions 206b, 307a, 407a, and 507a formed so as to be connectable to a main rotor 106. The function modules 200 to 500 are also provided with input adjustment mechanisms 205, 305, 405, and 505 having the function of changing at least one of the characteristics of the rotational driving force and the manner of transmission of the rotational driving force between the rotors and the module output portions.
