Abstract:
Provided is a rotary damper wherein air inside the housing can be discharged by a manual operation in an environment in which a vacuum pump cannot be provided. A rotary damper (100) is equipped with a housing (101). The housing (101) is provided with a rotor (120) inside a bottomed cylindrical housing main body (102) and is covered by a lid (110). A working fluid accommodation section (103) inside the housing main body (102) is partitioned into four individual chambers (R1-R4) by stationary vanes (104, 105) and movable vanes (127, 128) provided on the rotor (120). Air vent holes (108a, 109a) are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the housing main body (102) such that individual chamber (R1) and individual chamber (R4), which are adjacent to each other with stationary vane (104) therebetween, communicate with each other. The air vent holes (108a, 109a) are closed off by plugs (108b, 109b) in a state in which working fluid pockets (108c, 109c) are formed.
