Abstract:
A rotary electric machine generates a plurality of magnetic poles provided to an iron core and disposed in the circumferential direction of the iron core, and the magnetic poles each comprise a plurality of magnets (400) that define a d-axis and a q-axis that show the center of the corresponding magnetic pole, and an armature (700) having an armature winding (720). Each magnet comprises a magnet body (400, 420, 430, 460) that: has a pair of magnetic flux action faces (401a, 401b, 411a, 411b) that face each other, one being the magnetic flux inflow face, and the other being the magnetic flux outflow face; and has a thickness defined as the minimum distance between the magnetic flux action faces. Each magnet body has a plurality of axes of easy magnetization, and the length of a line segment along at least one of the axes of easy magnetization between the pair of magnetic flux action faces is longer than the thickness thereof.
