Abstract:
The core of this rotary electric machine is formed by annularly connecting multiple segment-core-connected bodies, each comprising multiple segment cores arranged in an arc-like shape. Each of the segment cores is formed by laminating first core pieces and second core pieces together. The first core piece has a first arm portion and a second arm portion. The second core piece has a first shoulder portion and a second shoulder portion. When the segment cores are arranged in the arc-like shape, the first arm portion and the second arm portion of adjoining first core pieces engage with each other, and the first shoulder portion and the second shoulder portion of adjoining second core pieces engage with each other. With regard to each of the segment cores, the range of directions in which a first core piece circumferentially adjoining a certain first core piece can be relatively offset within a plane perpendicular to the lamination direction does not overlap the range of directions in which a second core piece laminated with the first core piece circumferentially adjoining the certain first core piece can be relatively offset in the plane perpendicular to the lamination direction.
