Title:
ROTARY ELECTRIC MACHINE FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/101620
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To solve the problem of a conventional rotary electric machine performing starting power generation and having an inverter arranged independently from the rotary electric machine body and three-phase harness provided between the rotary electric machine and the inverter, wherein enhancement of starting and power generation output and efficiency are limited for the same working current (dependent on thermal limitation of the inverter) by voltage drop or loss at the aforementioned members. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Since an inverter unit (22) is fixed integrally to a rear bracket (44) and mounted integrally on the axial end face of the rotary electric machine (20), harness to be connected can be shortened, thereby reducing its weight and disturbance noise resistance of the harness. Since the rotor (40) is a claw-pole rotor having permanent magnets (40c, 40d), inverter base current is reduced and the size of the inverter unit (22) can be reduced so that it can be mounted integrally on the starting generator.
