Abstract:
A rotary electric machine includes a stator having a stator core in which are formed a plurality of slots and a plurality of stator coils accommodated in the slots, and a rotor arranged on the inner circumference side of the stator. The plurality of slots includes first slots and second slots. When a first ratio between the quantity of in-phase coils to the quantity of the plurality of coils accommodated in the first slots exceeds a predetermined ratio, and a second ratio of the quantity of in-phase coils to the number of the plurality of coils accommodated in the second slots is less than or equal to a predetermined ratio, the width of the rotor-facing openings in the first slots is equal to or greater than 0 and is less than the width of the rotor-facing openings in the second slots.
