Abstract:

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a rotary electric machine which can be efficiently cooled while reducing the noise that is generated when pulling in cooling air from a fan side. This rotary electric machine has: a stator; a rotor having a rotor core arranged on the inner peripheral side of a stator core of the stator; a rotary shaft that rotates the rotor core; a bearing that rotatably supports the rotary shaft; a cooling fan provided to the rotary shaft; and a housing that accommodates the stator core and the rotor core, wherein: the cooling fan is configured from a main plate, vanes provided on the housing-facing surface of the main plate so as to extend in the radial direction of the rotor core, and a side plate connected to the vanes and provided along the main plate; air inlet port in the housing is provided in a region formed by projecting the side plate toward the housing; the angle φ formed between the main plate and the side plate is greater than 0 degrees; and the gap between the main plate and the side plate increases toward the inner diameter side.
