Abstract:
This rotary electric machine is provided with a stator (1) and a rotor (2) for rotating in the inner circumference of the stator (1), wherein, in a rotor core (3), a plurality of permanent magnets (4) constituting magnetic poles are embedded in magnet insertion holes (21) formed penetrating through the rotor core (3) in the axial direction. Each of the magnetic poles is formed by two or more of the permanent magnets (4). At each of the magnetic poles, an outer circumferential iron part (24) which is surrounded by the permanent magnets (4) and a rotor outer-circumferential part (20) is provided with a slit (25) formed by cutting out the rotor outer-circumferential surface (20) toward the radially inner side of the rotor (2). The leading end on the radially inner side of the slit (25) has a gap (252).
