Abstract:

In a rotary electric motor having a control device and a heatsink that are arranged in a direction in which an output shaft of a motor extends, in order to provide a rotary electric motor that ensures heat dissipation properties and insulation properties of a semiconductor device mounted on the control device and that is compact as a whole, the control device includes the semiconductor device having a driving circuit provided corresponding to a stator winding of the motor, a principal surface of the semiconductor device is in close contact with the heatsink, and the driving circuit is formed on the close contact surface between the semiconductor device and the heatsink along an outer edge of the heatsink in order to increase the cooling area.
