Abstract:
Disclosed is a rotary electrical machine comprising: a stator core which has a plurality of slots formed therein; slot conductors which are inserted into the slots in the stator core and comprise any one of a plurality of layers; a multi-phase stator winding which has a plurality of wave-wound circumferential windings formed from cross-over conductors that comprise coil ends and effect connection between adjacent same-side end sections of slot conductors inserted into different slots; and a rotor which is rotatably supported with respect to the stator core with a gap therebetween. If the slot number of each pole is taken as N, the cross-over conductors span the slots at a slot pitch of Np = N + 1 at one of the coil ends, and effect connection between slot conductors so as to span the slots at a slot pitch of Np = N - 1 at the other coil end. The stator winding has a plurality of single-group slot conductor groups formed by a plurality of slot conductors of the same phase. A plurality of slot conductors of the slot conductor groups are inserted in such a way that the slots and layers in a prescribed number (Ns) of slots arranged next to each other continuously in the stator-core circumferential direction are adjacent. If the number of slots of each phase of each pole is taken as NSPP and the number of layers is taken as 2 × NL, the prescribed number (Ns) is set to Ns = NSPP + NL.
