Abstract:
Provided is a rotary machine control device (1) that applies an AC voltage to a rotary machine (16) through an electric power converter (14) for converting a DC voltage from a DC power supply (13), wherein: the rotary machine control device (1) comprises a voltage command generator (10) that generates a voltage command value, a carrier wave generation unit (11), and a comparator (12) that determines a switching action of the electric power converter according to the voltage command value and an output from the carrier wave generation unit; and the carrier wave generation unit (11) has a carrier wave corrector (20) that corrects the frequency of a carrier wave, the carrier wave generation unit (11) performing switching such that the peak current does not increase in a region where the magnitude of a current value in current information pertaining to the rotary machine (16) is greater than a predetermined magnitude, on the basis of a condition that the number of instances of switching per cycle of electric angles is prevented from increasing to the extent possible, thereby suppressing any increase in the peak current while preventing any increase in loss associated with the switching action, and protecting the rotary machine (16) and the electric power converter (14).
