Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1993/008389
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A rotary-piston internal combustion engine comprises a casing (1) in which are mounted: a rotary-piston element consisting of a disk secured to the shaft (2) and serving as the rotor (8), on the end-face wall of which are diametrically oppositely mounted two pistons (9); a cylinder block (4) with combustion chamber sections (5) provided in it; a device for feeding the fuel and the air and for removing the exhaust gas. In the casing (1) is provided an open annular channel (11) in which are located the pistons (9). The rotor (8) with the pistons (9) and the cylinder block (4) with the combustion chamber sections (5) form substantially a Maltese mechanism providing for intermittent rotation of the cylinder block (4) and for connection of one of the combustion chamber sections (5) with the open annular channel (11) under continuous rotation of the rotor (8) with the pistons (9).
