Abstract:
A rotary polishing tool capable of finishing a polishing subject surface to a desired degree of surface roughness. A plurality of substantially circular polishing cloth sheets (7) are superposed to form a substantially cylindrical polishing member (3). The peripheral edge of each polishing cloth sheet (7) is in a meandering form reciprocating axially of the center shaft. The developed shape of the outer edge of each polishing cloth sheet (7) is a substantially S-shaped curve. The polishing member (3) is rotated to polish the polishing subject article by its peripheral surface. Since polishing is effected with the outer edge of each polishing cloth sheet (7) moving axially, the peripheral edges of the polishing cloth sheets (7) abut against the entire surface of the polishing subject surface. The polishing cloth sheets (7) become polishable therebetween, so that the polishing subject surface is finished to a desired degree of surface roughness.
