Provided is a rotary switch wherein the possibility of design in accordance with an operation request is large. In a rotator (70), upper and lower contact pieces (7C1, 7C2) which have a predetermined number of contact areas having a predetermined angular width, are overlapped with a disk portion (72) in each of a plurality of annular zones defined by a plurality of concentric circles. The upper and lower contact surfaces are insert-molded so as to be exposed on one surface and the other surface of the disk portion. An upper contact holder (80) and a lower contact holder (60) cover the upper half portion and the lower half portion of the disk portion of the rotator, and have a plurality of elastic contacts which are in elastic contact with the upper and lower surfaces of the disk portion in the plural annular zones. A rotating operation shaft (10) is inserted in the rotator, the lower contact holder, and the upper contact holder, and can rotate the rotator.
