Abstract:
A rotary table device capable of sufficiently fulfilling all the requirements for specified axial and radial swing accuracies, high resolution, and thin and medium and large sizes, comprising a guide device and a rotary table mounted on the guide device. The guide device further comprises a ring-shaped integral rail (11) having no discontinuous part in the direction of travel and a plurality of guide blocks (12) installed on the rail (11) from the opposed face side. The face of the rail (11) on the opposite side of the opposed face is joined to the lower face of the rotary table (14). The rail (11) is formed in an L-shape in cross section having a vertical part and a horizontal part extending in the radial direction of the rotary table formed at the upper end of the vertical part. A tape type scale as the detected part (16a) of a detection mechanism (16) is installed on the outer peripheral surface of the rail (11).
