The present invention relates to a rotary type damper comprising: a housing filled with a working fluid; a shaft penetrating inside the housing and placed in a rotatable manner; an axis pin provided on the side of the shaft to reach the inner circumference of the housing, for limiting the movement of the working fluid; and a housing pin placed on the housing so that the position thereof varies due to the resistance of the working fluid according to the rotating direction of the shaft, so as to closely contact the side of the shaft and the inner circumference of the housing. The present invention increases the durability and the period of use by minimizing the contact area between the component members and reducing abrasion during the operation, easily enables an accurate control of the working fluid, thereby eliminating the requirement for high precision in processing the component members, thus decreasing the effort and cost spent in manufacturing, enables an accurate control of the resistance of the working fluid, thereby enhancing the reliability of a damping action, and enables the control of an uni-directional damping and the rotating speed of a rotary body which is the target of damping, so as to enable an easy application to the rotary body requiring an unidirectional damping or a variation in the rotating speed.
