Abstract:
A dense-phase conveying system for powder and granular materials conveys a powder or granular material at high density from a container to a storage device. A rotary valve (103) continuously supplies the powder or granular material from the container to a conveying pipe (102). A compressor feeds gas to spaces (312, 313) between side walls (303, 304) of a rotor and side plates (308, 309) of a casing (201) in the rotary valve (103) to thereby prevent the powder or granular material from entering the spaces from the conveying pipe (102). The interior of the rotary valve is divided into a plurality of small spaces (212) by a plurality of vanes (211). The side walls of the rotor separate the plurality of small spaces (212) from the spaces (312, 313) as the outer peripheral surface thereof is made to contact the inner peripheral surface of a gasket (306). In each of the small spaces (212), in a portion adjacent to a region where the inner peripheral surface of the gasket (306) and the outer peripheral surface of the side wall of the rotor are in contact with each other, a notch (314) is provided such that the powder or granular material can circulate therein.
