Abstract:

A rotatably retractable bicycle stem is provided with a head tube seat (10) and a stem (20) positioned at and engaging with the top of the head tube seat (10) and that can rotate laterally. The head tube seat (10) forms a head tube rotation axis (A). The stem (20) forms a stem rotation axis (B). A front end of the stem (20) extends forwards to form a handlebar sleeve structure (23). The shortest distance between the stem rotation axis (B) and the center of the handlebar sleeve structure (23) is shorter than the shortest distance between the head tube rotation axis (A) and the center of the handlebar sleeve structure (23). During use, the head tube seat (10) engages with the head tube of a bicycle front fork, and the handlebar sleeve structure (23) secures the handlebars (C). When the bicycle is folded, the stem (20) is rotated to the left or to the right by 90 degrees, such that the handlebars (C) are closer to the bicycle frame, thereby reducing the width of a folding bicycle and facilitating storage of the folding bicycle.
