Abstract:
This rotating electric machine (10) is provided with a field element (40) having: a magnet portion (1000) including a plurality of magnets, the polarities of which alternate in the circumferential direction; and a cylindrical magnet holding portion (43). The magnet portion is provided with a plurality of arc-shaped magnets (1001) disposed side by side in the circumferential direction. Each magnet has both end surfaces in the circumferential direction, which are formed along the radial direction and make contact with the magnets each adjacent in the circumferential direction. Recess portions (1004) opening outside in the radial direction are provided on the outer circumferential surface of the magnet portion. Elastic members (1005) are provided in housing spaces surrounded by the inner circumferential surface of the magnet holding portion and the recess portions. The elastic members are housed in a compressed state in which an elastic force is exerted to the recess portions and the inner circumferential surface of the magnet holding portion such that the elastic members compresses the respective magnets from the outside toward the inside in the radial direction in a state in which the plurality of magnets are arranged in the circumferential direction.
