Abstract:
Provided is a rotating electric machine in which a high torque and a high efficiency can be achieved by a fabrication method capable of minimizing eddy current loss occurring on the surface of a rotor and minimizing the thickness of a bridge portion. In order to provide this rotating electric machine, the rotating electric machine comprises: a rotor provided with a rotor core in which a plurality of magnet holes for housing a plurality of magnets are formed; and a stator facing the rotor with a predetermined air gap interposed therebetween. The rotor core comprises, near the q-axis that is the magnetic pole boundary of the rotor, a bridge portion where the distance between the magnetic hole and the surface facing the stator becomes the shortest. When the surface roughness of the surface of the bridge portion facing the stator is denoted by R1 and the surface roughness of the surface facing the stator near the d-axis that is the magnetic pole center of the rotor is denoted by R2, the rotor core is configured such that R1 and R2 are different from each other.
