Abstract:
This rotating electric machine 1 comprises: a cylindrical stator 2 that includes a stator core 20 and a stator coil 21; a rotor 3 that is rotatably provided in the stator 2; a case 10 that houses the stator 2 and the rotor 3; and a cylindrical partition wall 11 that is formed of an electrically conductive metal, and that partitions the internal space of the case 10 into an inner space X for the stator 2 and a container space Y which houses a coil end 21b of the stator 2 protruding from an end portion of the stator core of the stator coil 21 laterally in the axial direction of the rotating shaft of the rotor and in which a cooling liquid is circulated. At least a portion of the partition wall 11 closer to the stator core 20 is divided into a plurality of small segment portions 111a by formation of slits 110a.
