Abstract:
A rotating electrical machine drive system comprising: a rotating electrical machine having a stator having an armature winding wound thereupon and a rotor having a field winding wound thereupon; and a control device that controls current supplied to at least either the field winding or the armature winding. The rotor 30 comprises: a field core 32 having a boss 321 and hook-shaped magnetic poles 323; a field winding wound on the boss 321; and permanent magnets 34 arranged between the hook-shaped magnetic poles 323. A d-axis magnetic circuit 36 formed by the magnetomotive force of the field winding and at least part of first and second magnet magnetic circuits formed by the magnetic force of the permanent magnets 34 are shared. The permeance Prt of the d-axis magnetic circuit 36, when a load is applied to the rotor 30, is set so as to be smaller than the permeance Pst of a q-axis magnetic circuit 37. The control device uses phase control to control the rotating electrical machine to perform either power running or regenerative operation.
