Abstract:
A rotating electrical machine 20 comprising a stator 22 and a rotor 24. The stator 22 has a stator core 40 and an armature winding 42 wound around the stator core 40. The rotor 24 is arranged facing the stator 22 in the radial direction, on the inside of the stator 22 in the radial direction. The rotor 24 has: a field core 50 having a plurality of magnetic pole sections 62 each forming a plurality of magnetic poles having alternating polarity in the circumferential direction; a field winding 52 wound around the field core 50; and a cylindrical short circuit member 54 arranged on the outside, in the radial direction, of the magnetic pole sections 62 so as to cover the outer surface of the magnetic pole sections 62 in the radial direction and magnetically connecting magnetic pole sections 62 adjacent in the circumferential direction. Both end sections 54t of the short circuit member 54, in the axial direction, protrude further outside in the axial direction than both end sections, in the axial direction, of the stator core 40.
