Disclosed are a rotating light source for a vehicle lamp, and a control method and application therefor. The rotation light source for a vehicle lamp uses a light source assembly composed of an LED light-emitting chip (1) and an LED circuit board, a rotation motor (4) for the rotation of the light source assembly is provided behind the light source assembly, and the light source assembly rotates at a high speed when in use, thereby improving the uniformity of lighting while achieving heat dissipation of the LED light-emitting chip (1) with high power and high luminous flux. Therefore, by means of rotating LEDs at a high speed and providing a radiator therefor, the heat dissipation performance is improved, and the rotating light source has a simple structure, a small volume and a good heat dissipation performance. In the case of a light source using the multi-chip LED light-emitting chip (1), a light-emitting area of the light source is enlarged, and gaps between chips of the multi-chip LED light-emitting chip (1) are greatly reduced, thereby improving the uniformity of road lighting of headlights.
