Abstract:
Provided is a compact and high-precision rotating shaft holding mechanism which can be utilized even for a device in which a small amount of rotation is required. A rotating shaft holding mechanism is provided with parallel spring links each comprising: a movable side which is connected to a rotating shaft by a hinge at a connection point which is away a distance h in the radial direction from the center of rotation of the rotating shaft; deformable sides which are parallel to each other; hinges which each connect one end of each of the deformable sides to the movable side; and hinges which connect ends of the deformable sides to a stationary section. The rotating shaft holding mechanism or a rotational viscometer using the rotating shaft holding mechanism is configured in such a manner that the effective length of the deformable sides is set to h to permit the shaft, which is connected to the movable side by the hinge at the connection point which is away a distance h from the rotation center of the shaft in the radial direction, to rotate within a finite angle range, and in such a manner that the parallel spring links include at least two or more parallel spring links oriented in different directions.
