Abstract:
A torque sensor comprises rotation angle sensors each of which outputs three-phase sensor signals having a composed waveform of a triple angle component and a septuple angle component and having equally displaced phases of signal variation depending on a rotation angle. Rotation angle detection units detect electric angles θel having a septuple shaft angle by extracting the values of septuple angle components contained in sensor values a, b, and c by subtracting an average value of the sensor values a, b, and c from each of the sensor values a, b, and c. A mechanical angle θab of the steering shaft as an object for detection is detected by converting seven mechanical angle estimation values θab_e(θab_e1 to θab_e7) estimated on the basis of the electric angles θel into triple angle components, and comparing the triple angle components with the average value of the sensor values a, b, and c.
