Abstract:
This rotation angle detection device (10) comprises a magnet part (12) that rotates together with a rotor (5), and a magnetism detection part (13) that is positioned so as to be radially outwardly spaced apart from the magnet part (12) and detects a radial magnetic flux component and a tangential magnetic flux component of the magnetic field. The magnet part (12) has an even number of magnets (14) that are lined up in the direction of rotation of the rotor (5). The magnets (14) are magnetised in the radial direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation (AX) of the rotor (5). The even number of magnets (14) are positioned such that among magnets (14) that are adjacent in the direction of rotation, the radially outer poles differ. A gap (15) is provided between magnets (14) that are adjacent in the direction of rotation.
