Abstract:
Provided is a rotation braking apparatus that is suitable for when the angle of rotation of an outer member (2) is small and when stopping. According to the present invention, a clutch mechanism (3) provided between an inner member (1) and an outer member (2) suppresses the relative rotation of a holding device (22) by means of a magnetic actuator (24), and uses the relative rotation to move an engager (21) between an engagement location and a neutral location. An armature (33), of which rotation with respect to the holding device (22) has been prevented, is magnetically suctioned directly to an electromagnet (34), of which rotation with respect to a housing (4) that accommodates the clutch mechanism (3) has been prevented. The outer member (2) is directly supported in a radial direction by the housing (4), and is engaged with the housing (4) to limit relative rotation therebetween.
