Abstract:
A forward/reverse rotation control device for a drilling machine of the present invention comprises: a micro switch unit generating forward and reverse rotation signals according to the manipulation of a handle; a relay which enables a single phase motor to rotate in a forward or reverse direction by switching the direction of the current flowing in a start-up coil (ST) according to the forward and reverse rotation signals of the micro switch unit; a forward rotation signal driver which switches a contact point of the relay to a position for forward rotation when receiving the forward rotation signal by the micro switch unit, then activates a start-up circuit to allow the single phase motor to rotate in the forward direction; a reverse rotation signal driver which switches a contact point of the relay to a position for reverse rotation when receiving the reverse rotation signal by the micro switch unit, then activates the start-up circuit to allow the single phase motor to rotate in the reverse direction; and the start-up circuit which, when inputted with a driving signal by the forward rotation signal driver, turns on a switching device to induce current to the start-up winding and a start-up condenser, thereby allowing the single phase motor to rotate in the forward direction; and when inputted with a driving signal by the reverse rotation signal driver, the start-up circuit turns on the switching device to induce current to the start-up winding and the start-up condenser, thereby allowing the single phase motor to rotate in the reverse direction. Also, the start-up circuit turns off the switching device and stops the start-up operation when an induction voltage over a certain amount is generated in the start-up winding.
