Abstract:
This rotation detecting device is used in conjunction with a switch to detect the rotation of a rotating shaft to which a magnetic body is attached. The rotation detecting device is provided with: a magneto-resistive element which outputs a first signal relating to displacement of the magnetic body; a Hall element which outputs a second signal relating to displacement of the magnetic body; and a detecting circuit into which the first and second signals are input. The detecting circuit is configured to output the first signal when the switch is on, to detect, from the second signal, rotational speed information corresponding to the rotational speed of the rotating shaft at a first time point when the switch is off, to hold the rotational speed information, and to output the held rotational speed information at a second time point when the switch is turned on, after the first time point.
