Abstract:
The present invention provides: a rotation detection device that is capable of minimizing positional displacement of an inner case with respect to an outer case; and a method of manufacturing the rotation detection device. This rotation detection device 1 is provided with: a magnet 30; a magnetic sensor which detects a change in magnetic field formed by the magnet 30 in association with rotation of a magnetized rotor, which is one example of a to-be-detected object; an inner case 10 in which the magnetic sensor and the magnet 30 are housed; and an outer case 20 that encloses the inner case 10. The inner case 10 is provided with: a to-be-retained surface which is exposed to the outside, and which corresponds to a first to-be-retained surface being the bottom surface of a positioning hole 11 that is open toward the upward direction, which is a first direction; and a to-be-retained part 17 which is exposed to the outside, and which includes a to-be-retained surface 17c corresponding to a second to-be-retained surface that faces the downward direction, which is a second direction, opposite to the upward direction.
