Abstract:
[Problem] To reduce the axial size of a rotation detection device. [Solution] A rotation detection device 1 is provided with: a housing 2; a shaft 3 that is rotatably supported by the housing 2 and has magnets 4a to 4c fixed thereto; and magnetic field detection units 5a to 5d that are for detecting the magnetic fields of the magnets 4a to 4c, are provided with a magnetic element 51 and coil 52 that generate a large Barkhausen effect, have longitudinal directions that are parallel to tangents of the circular rotation paths R1 to R4 of the magnets 4a to 4c, and are fixed to the housing 2 so as to be capable of opposing the magnets 4a to 4c in the radial direction of the circular rotation paths R to R4.
