Abstract:
This rotation detection device is provided with a detection unit (30) and a determining circuit unit (40), and a plurality of magnetoresistive element pairs (31-35) are disposed further from a rotor (10) than a rotor-side end portion (21a) of a bias magnet (21). A first magnetoresistive element pair (31), a second magnetoresistive element pair (32), and a third magnetoresistive element pair (33) are disposed further from the end portion than a fourth magnetoresistive element pair (34) and a fifth magnetoresistive element pair (35) among the magnetoresistive element pairs, the second magnetoresistive element pair is disposed within a range surrounded by the first magnetoresistive element pair, third magnetoresistive element pair, fourth magnetoresistive element pair, and fifth magnetoresistive element pair, and a detection unit generates a main signal on the basis of outputs from the first magnetoresistive element pair, second magnetoresistive element pair and third magnetoresistive element pair, and generates a sub-signal on the basis of outputs from the fourth magnetoresistive element pair and fifth magnetoresistive element pair.
