Disclosed is a rotation restriction device which restricts the rotation of a rotation section with respect to a base section. This rotation restriction device is provided with a stop which is supported in such a way as to be swingable about the rotational axis of the base section; a locking mechanism which is capable of switching between a state where the stop is prohibited from swinging about the base section and a state where the stop is allowed to swing thereabout; a first block which is provided in the rotation section and is capable of moving between a position where the first block interferes with the swing path of the stop and a position where the first block does not interfere with the swing path of the stop; and a second block which is provided in the rotation section and is capable of moving between a position where the second block interferes with the swing path of the stop and a position where the second block does not interfere with the swing path of the stop. In a state where the rotation of the rotation section with respect to the base section is not restricted, the first block and the second block are both located at positions where the same interfere with the swing path of the stop, and the stop is located between the first block and the second block.
