Abstract:
This invention provides a rotation sensor whereby decreases in the precision of a pulse signal are minimized and the number of pulses in said pulse signal is increased. Said rotation sensor has a magneto-electric conversion unit (10) and a processing unit (30). The magneto-electric conversion unit converts changes in magnetic flux, the direction of which varies in a periodic manner as a rotating body (200) rotates, to electrical signals, and the processing unit processes the electrical signals from the magneto-electric conversion unit. The magneto-electric conversion unit outputs a first detection signal and a second detection signal. The processing unit has a first comparison unit (31) that compares the first detection signal to a detection threshold and a second comparison unit (32) that compares the second detection signal to a reference threshold. When the first detection signal surpasses or falls below the detection threshold, the first comparison unit changes the voltage level of the detection threshold and subsequently reverts said detection threshold to the original voltage level thereof on the basis of the second detection signal and the reference threshold. The first detection signal is thereby converted to a pulse signal on the basis of detection thresholds having the same voltage level.
