Abstract:

A rotation transmission device where electricity to an electromagnetic coil of the device is controlled with influence of an increase and decrease in the rotational speed of a rotating shaft added to the control, the electromagnetic coil engaging and disengaging a clutch by controlling a roller clutch section by an electromagnetic force. By this, electric power is further saved and the electromagnetic coil is made more compact. A rotation transmission device (C₁) has a roller clutch section (10) for engaging and disengaging through a roller (13) a connection between an inner member (11) and an outer ring (14) on a rotating shaft and has an electromagnetic clutch (20) for controlling by an electromagnetic force the engagement and disengagement by the roller (13). A current until the engagement is established by conduction of electricity is set so as to match a state that requires the maximum current corresponding to the variation in the rotational speed of the rotating shaft, so that the current is varied to a required value depending on the variation in the rotational speed of the rotating shaft. This enables electric power to be further saved and an electromagnetic coil (21) to be made more compact.
