Abstract:
This rotation transmission device comprises: a bi-directional clutch (10) that engages and releases a first shaft (S1) and a second shaft (S2) which are coaxially disposed; and an electromagnetic clutch (40) that controls the engaging and releasing of the bi-directional clutch (10). The bi-directional clutch (10) comprises: an internal member (1) provided on the first shaft (S1); an external member (2) provided on the second shaft (S2); a retainer (3); a roller (4); a neutral-retaining elastic member (5) that impels the retainer (3) to a neutral position at which the roller (4) is released from engagement; and a securing member (20) that is provided on both sides of the retainer (3) in the shaft direction and that allows the roller (4) to move only in the direction that is parallel to a cam surface (1a).
