Abstract:
This rotation transmission device includes: a roller retainer (7) supported between the outer periphery of an inner ring (5) and the inner periphery of an outer ring (4) so as to be movable in the circumferential direction; an armature (10) disposed opposing an electromagnet (9) in the axial direction so as to perform axial direction movement when the electromagnet (9) is energized; and a motion conversion mechanism (11) that moves the roller retainer (7) in the circumferential direction in accordance with the axial direction movement of the armature (10). The electromagnet (9) is formed to have a greater inner diameter than the outer diameter of the outer ring (4), and the electromagnet (9) is disposed radially outward of the outer ring (4) so as to surround the outer periphery of the outer ring (4).
