Title:
ROTOR BLOCKING AND METHOD OF MOLDING A ROTOR BLOCKING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2002057069
Kind Code:
A9
Abstract:
A molded rotor block, as well as other molded articles of manufacture, are made from a resin material selected from the group consisting of epoxy thermosets, polyester thermosets, phenolic, and melamine; and a reinforcement material selected from the group consisting of glass and mineral filler. The article of manufacture is adapted to withstand temperatures that range from about -40 DEG C to about 180 DEG C-40 DEG C and to withstand centrifugal loading at about 1500 RPM to about 4500 RPM while functioning as an insulator. The molding operation provides many advantages over CNC machining and other manufacturing methods.
