Abstract:
The present invention reduces the cogging torque of a rotor and an electric motor. This rotor comprises a rotor core (20) having a plurality of magnet placement holes (21), a plurality of permanent magnets (30) respectively placed in the plurality of magnet placement holes (21), and a rotary shaft (10) that is fixed to the rotor core (20) and rotates abouts the axial direction thereof. Each of the magnet placement holes (21) has a first protrusion (22) positioned on a part of a first inner surface (21a) among a first and a second inner surface (21a), (21b) that face each other in the direction of rotation. Each of the permanent magnets (30) has a second protrusion (30a) directed toward the first inner surface (21a) where the first protrusion (22) is positioned. The first protrusion (22) and the second protrusion (30a) are positioned in the vicinity of the opening of the magnet placement hole (21) in the axial direction of the rotary shaft (10), and are placed in the magnet placement hole (21) on opposite sides from each other in the axial direction of the rotary shaft (10).
