Abstract:

A rotor of a permanent magnet generator comprises a support structure that is prepared and arranged in a way to support a permanent magnet 5. The support structure comprises a lamination of stacked insulated sheets of metal 6, to inhibit the development of eddy currents in the support structure, that occur due to interaction between the permanent magnet 5 of the rotor and a winding of a stator when the generator is in operation.
