Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a technique capable of providing guidance of a planned movement route using some information relating to as many signboards as possible.
[Solution] This route guidance system performs guidance of a planned movement route using information relating to signboards installed on a road or on a building as landmarks, and is provided with a guidance control unit which if, in a signboard database in which at least one of a signboard name and characteristic information relating to the form of the signboard is associated with a location, the signboard name is associated with a location for which the planned movement route guidance is to be performed, performs the guidance of the planned movement route using the signboard name, and if no signboard name is associated with the location for which the planned movement route guidance is to be performed, performs the guidance of the planned movement route using the characteristic information.
