Abstract:
The present invention provides a route providing apparatus for providing a route to a vehicle, and a route providing method thereof. The route providing apparatus comprises: a communication unit for receiving map information consisting of a plurality of layers from a server; an interface unit for receiving sensing information from one or more sensors provided in the vehicle; and a processor which, on the basis of an image received from an image sensor from among the sensing information, specifies any one lane in which the vehicle is located on a road consisting of a plurality of lanes, estimates in units of lanes, by using the map information, an optimal route that the vehicle is expected or planned to travel with respect to the specified lane, generates field-of-view information for autonomous driving in which the sensing information is fused with the optimal route, and transmits the field-of-view information to at least one of the server and electronic equipment provided in the vehicle. The processor controls the interface unit so as for an engine of the vehicle to be turned on or off on the basis of the field-of-view information for autonomous driving while the vehicle is in a stopped state.
