Abstract:
Provided is a rubber based on a hydrogenated conjugated diene, the rubber being capable of giving a crosslinked rubber that has high strength and is excellent in terms of fuel-saving performance and being capable of giving a rubber composition that has excellent processability. The rubber based on a hydrogenated conjugated diene has a degree of hydrogenation of the butadiene units of 90% or higher. When analyzed by gel permeation chromatography, the rubber based on a hydrogenated conjugated diene gives a molecular weight distribution in which when the peak area corresponding to the molecular-weight range of 1,000-250,000 is expressed by AL and the peak area corresponding to the molecular-weight range of 250,000 and greater is expressed by AH, then the proportion of AL to the sum of AL and AH is 0.5-20%.
