Abstract:
A strand (41) formed by twisting a plurality of filaments (41a) is passed through an untwisting tool (48) to thereby untwist respective filaments (41a) and form specified spaces (S) between them. Rubber thin film coatings are applied onto the outer peripheries of respective filaments (41a) in this condition, and the filaments are returned to the original twisted condition, thereby producing a rubber thin film-coated strand (59). Therefore, a preset stress can be retained against an external force or the like, and an adhesiveness to a rubber material can be ensured, thereby providing a rubber thin film-coated strand excellent in corrosion resistance, effective in vibration absorption, and useful in preventing frictional heat; and a belt and ply using the strand.
