Abstract:
Provided is a rubber composition that can improve fuel efficiency, wet grip performance, and wear resistance in a well-balanced manner. Also provided is a pneumatic tire using the rubber composition. The disclosed rubber composition contains a rubber component and silica. In 100% by mass of the rubber component, the content of a conjugated diene polymer that includes a structural unit based on a conjugated diene and a structural unit represented by formula (I) is 5% by mass or greater, the conjugated diene polymer having at least one end thereof modified by a silicon compound that includes a group represented by formula (II) and/or a group represented by formula (III). The content of silica to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component is 5 to 150 parts by mass.
