Title:
RUBBER COMPOSITION AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2006/101228
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A rubber composition which is reduced in hysteresis loss, has high stress even in a low-strain region, and can give a rubber material excellent in wearing resistance and fatigue resistance. It is filled with fine particles of, e.g., silica, in a higher proportion and in a more evenly dispersed state. A rubber is impregnated or mixed with an alkoxysilane compound. Preferably, a crosslinking agent, silane coupling agent, and/or filler is further incorporated into the rubber, besides the alkoxysilane compound. The alkoxysilane compound is hydrolyzed in the rubber in the presence of a catalyst comprising either an amino compound having a C5-15 hydrocarbon group or an amino compound having a solubility in water at 25°C and ordinary pressure of 0.001-34 g/L. Thus, a rubber composition filled with silica particles in a high proportion is obtained. This rubber composition is molded and crosslinked to obtain a crosslinked object.
