Abstract:
Provided are: a rubber composition for tire treads, which is formed into a tire that exhibits excellent on-ice performance, wet grip performance, low heat generation properties and wear resistance; and a pneumatic tire which uses this rubber composition for tire treads in a tread. This rubber composition for tire treads contains a diene rubber, a silica and a cured product; and the content of the silica is 20-100 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the diene rubber, while the content of the cured product is 0.3-30 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the diene rubber. The diene rubber contains a natural rubber and a modified butadiene rubber which has a polyorganosiloxane group at an end; the content of the natural rubber in the diene rubber is 30-90% by mass; and the content of the modified butadiene rubber in the diene rubber is 10-70% by mass. The cured product is obtained by curing a crosslinkable oligomer or polymer, which is not compatible with the diene rubber; and the cured product has a JIS A hardness of 3-45.
